My friend owns an 04 rsx-s and im going to buy a 1997 mustang gt he claims he will own me in a race but im not too sure about that. can n e 1 the real outcome? btw both cars are stock and both have manual transmission.Who will win a race a 2004 acura rsx-s versus a 1997 mustang gt from a dead stop/from a dig?
I think the V8 will outrun the 4-cylinder, even though it is a 200 HP Acura V-Tech.
The GT would win hands down.
You know back in high school there was a guy that would drive his mom's C5 Corvette to school a lot. He would always say that he could take my Dads Chevelle, which by the way has a 454 bored over .060 with around 650hp. So it came to the end of the year and I got to take the Chevelle to school and we lined up on the bus lanes which were around a 1/8 of a mile long with a gentle curve at the end. Needless to say I ripped the living pee out of him.
Moral of the story is technology is not a replacement for displacement and is just an excuse for not being able to afford gas.Who will win a race a 2004 acura rsx-s versus a 1997 mustang gt from a dead stop/from a dig?
that 4.6L v8 makes with 215hp stock? I think it would be a close race and would depend on the driver and tires.
from a roll it would depend what speed you start at. the rsx-s requires a high rpm launch to get a fast 1/4 mile time and if you started from a 10mph roll the V8 would win for sure
ok first of all these people above me have no clue what they are talking about look at the facts! 0-80 mustang will most likely win but 0-100 most likely the rsx because it has a better top speed. i would have to say it also depeneds highly on your driving skills it is only 1sec difference and it does not take much to **** that 1sec lead up geting off the line. good luck im routing for you i love mustangs.
btw a mustang is better for launches because of the torque so if your going 50-100 race the rsx-s will win if both cars are stock, like i said before because it is for high end power while the mustang is low end. this is the reason why a mustang beats a rsx-s in the 1/4 mile.
also from acurazine.com the tested 1/4mile for the 04 rsx type s is 15.1
and from mustangforums.com the tested 1/4mile for the 97 mustang gt is 14.2
so the mustang is about 1sec faster than the rsx.Who will win a race a 2004 acura rsx-s versus a 1997 mustang gt from a dead stop/from a dig?
OF COURSE the V8, though big, will crush the small 4!
The RSX and those types of smaller cars are nimbe andd may win track races, but surely not full out races!
it depends on the driver. He's had his car for a while and know how it handle. You don't even have your yet. Drive it for a while and get comfortable and then race. I bet on the RSX though. I think the RSX will beat you off the line but the mustang will be able to catch up possibly.
