Actually, this a common misconceptoin. I do hear this, quite often, indeed. Alpinestars MX Boots, are for snowmobiling, only. They were actually made, in conjunction, with the Ski-Doo Alpine and, the Ski-Doo Elan Snowmobiles. Back in the day (late 1960's) these boots, were first introduced, not so much, for racing, but, were made for the ski resorts, where the snow, was quite deep. Regular snow boots, weren't high enough. so they developed these boots, for the deep snow. Then, gradually, these boots, made the transistion, from the ski resort workers, to, the snowmobile public, themselves. These boots were eventually phased out, with the passing of time, and, better winter boot introductions. The snowmobile boots of today, are nothing like their counter parts were, back in the day. I have several pairs of these Alpinestars Boots... But, mine, have the Ski-Doo logo, on them, being, that, they are for the Ski-Doo Alpine, and, the Ski-Doo Elan. As far as I can remember, the Moto X Racing Boots, were, and, still are a completly different breed of boot. That is how I remember them, anyhow.
