I prefer Alpinestars, strictly because their technology seems to surpass others, and alpinstars has good looking gear
Check the features of each jacket. Does it have padding, if so, where is it and what quality is it? (CE foam or plastic, etc) Does it have a spine pad? How thick is the leather and what kind of leather is it?
Usually 1.1mm to 1.4mm drum dyed cowhide is perfectly good for the road. Also check what kind of ventilation is available on the jackets. Is the jacket perforated? A perforated jacket will be cooler on hot days.
Historically, Alpinstar gear is typically very high quality and comfort, but usually it is more expensive as well.
Basically, the jacket will protect your elbows, shoulders, back if you take a spill and the toughness of the leather will protect your skin (road rash) if you do some sliding on the pavement. But in a larger crash, it won't protect you that much, so use your head to ride safe and hopefully anticipate the danger spots.
Good luck!Alpinestars vs joe rocket?
As long as they are both the same type of material (ballistic nylon) and have the same amount of armor in the elbows, shoulder and back, they should offer the same amount of protection. I would then pick the one that offered better features, like what type of liner jacket it had, and whether it is waterproof or not. If still the same, just go with the one that looks best on you.
Alpinestars all the way!Alpinestars vs joe rocket?
id go with the alpinestars
