First you'll need a PA speaker. It should plug right into the back of the CB in the PA jack. Do you need help with choosing a good antenna? If you need further assistance email me.

You can get PA speakers for CB radios at Radioshack and most CB shops.

Here are some examples:

It probably has a mini socket on it marked "PA" where you plug in a wire connected to a speaker. Use an all-weather reflex horn speaker. Normal speakers can't handle the harsh environment outside. When you use the PA function of the CB radio it will sound much better if you also have a powered microphone. The stock mics are terrible and weak. The Astatic D104 mic is what you want. Get one at a Ham radio shop and have them wire it up for your radio since plug schemes vary widely from one brand to another. Be careful to not key up the radio with it on CB function without an antenna or a "dummy load" on it or the RF output will burn out in little time. The radio itself needs to be connected to ground and positive to power it up. You can attach it permanently or use a slide bracket you can use to take the radio in and out of the car so it doesn't disappear when you park somewhere. How do i hook up my cb radio to a speaker and play the PA system?
well i dont know if you want to hook up it up as a CB radio as well, if so you need to get an antenna. if you want good reception look at wilson magnet mount antennas. i can go much further into detail but i dont know if its what you want.

What ya do to get the pa working, is hook up the power to the CB if it plug into the cig lighter their ya go, if not then you gotta run the red wire to the battery,(ou probably need more wire to extend what came with it, STAY AT THE SAME GUAGE WIRE. DONT GO SMALLER) and the black wire to anywhere grounded, you could go to the battery, or any bolt going through the car, or most other metal in the car.

youve now got power. but you need a speaker, ebay has a bunch of little 12 watt speakers, which do fit under the grills with a little fenegailing of most cars. or you can get a nice powered speaker, but look into that later...

you will need to get a pa horn with a 3.5mm jack on the end, or wire one up that you got at radio shack, and plug it in the back (run the wire nice and hidden) and youve now got a PA system

these pa systems dont work too loud, you wont talk to anyone when your moing, but you will when you are stopped at traffic, at a light, a sign or what ever. dont expect to be heard from too far.

also about the mic. you do not want to use a powered mic, it will turn your audio into a garbled over modulated mess. a power mic is GREAT for Cb specially the d104, but not to use for pa unless you turn it way off... my buddies ive hooked pa systems up for, all use the stock mics and they sound fine. a better mic never improves the sound... the speakers only sound so good....

good luck
