How do they perform as far as being protective and flexible?

very nice boots in all aspects. Alpinestars are arguably the best boot out there. i love emAnyonw wear the short Motocross or ATV boots?
If you鈥檙e just pit bike riding or an ATV on the trails the short boots are fine. People with large calves also like them but there is no way I鈥檇 step onto a motocross bike and ride aggressively with them. Standard motocross boots are going to protect you ankle much better if you鈥檙e riding hard.
