Do i need to get a bigger alternator if i get a Hifonics XXV-COLOSSUS in a acura rsx?

will i need to get a bigger alternator if i get a Hifonics XXV-COLOSSUS in a acura rsx or can i jus get a Kinetik HC 800 battery or a Power Acoustik CAPCELL-600 campacitor and not upgeade my alternator.?

i will be running it @4 ohms pushing 2200rms 3200watts maxDo i need to get a bigger alternator if i get a Hifonics XXV-COLOSSUS in a acura rsx?
Outofanswers the name fits because you have no clue to what your talking about. A cap to an already weakend electrical system is going to kill the alternator faster, as is putting a capacitor into the mix. Go do your homework before you give more bad advice.

Now for the question at hand. Look into Odyssey batteries, since they are the same exact battery as the Stinger batteries. Made by the same company, just a different name on it and costs less. Skip the capacitor since you do not need it, unless you want to stiffen the voltage to your stereo system since that is all that it will do. But do not install the cap until you do the big 3 upgrade. Go get 10 - 15 feet of true 0 or true 2 gauge amp power wire. You will need 3 different strips as for the big 3 upgrade. You will add to the existing wires that were put there from the factory.

Battery negative post to chassis ground

Battery Positive post to alternate

Engine block to chassis ground

The factory used about an 8 gauge wireing. So adding 0 or 2 gauge wires to this is a huge upgrade. The battery will see more power going to it, and you will have a better ground for it all. The bigger the wire the less resistance there will be for the power to travel through. That alone will stop any and all light dimming that you may inccur. I did this to my Infiniti G35, since I am using a Power Acoustik BAMF 5500/1 that puts out 3200 watts rms and had major light dimming going on. So bad the the car would actually shut off. I had to recharge my battery to start the car again. I did the big 3 upgrade and problem solved.Do i need to get a bigger alternator if i get a Hifonics XXV-COLOSSUS in a acura rsx?
You do not really need to upgrade your alternator if you plan on getting a capacitor or some sort of optimum battery. just run your hot wire from the second batter or install your cap and it will hold your amp at the 12 volts it needs. upgrading altenators is usually done by people who refuse to spend for the cap or the battery. But u get better sound quality and no dimming lights when the bass hits if you spend for the extra battery or capacitor!!!

PS-make sure the cap u purchase has enough fareds to handle an amp that big or else you may get a little bit of dimming of the lights
