How can I make my Acura RSX Type-S faster?

What parts (for under $500) can I buy to make the Acura RSX Type-S overall faster/better? I was thinking: cold air intake, strut bars, short shifter... But what will help out the most?How can I make my Acura RSX Type-S faster?

You should get NGK Iridium spark plugs (burn fuel better for better performance) $10 each.

If you are going to get a cold air intake, get the real one, not the ones that sell at autozone or murrays. Those fake intakes suck in the hot air produced in the engine bay which provides poor performance. You should keep the box intake and get a K%26amp;N air filter. $50 I think it costs at autozone.



Premium gas will also help a lot, both in performance and keeping your engine clean. Try to save for a small turbo if you can (maybe $1000?). Lightweight aluminum rims also won't hurt.

strut bars arent going to do anything but make it handle a bit better. Short shifter will speed up shifting times but not make it faster, and cold air intake will make a little difference in the overall performance. To make it faster will take more than 500 bucks, and a good place to start is a turbo and intercooler. If you cant afford that maybe you can get the head reworked (ported and polished) and a cam shaft, but again thats over 500 bucks just in labor alone.
