Could you convert a 2002 acura rsx automatic into a standard stick shift?

how much would it cost? i know it would probably be expensive. would it run as good as a regular stick shift rsx?Could you convert a 2002 acura rsx automatic into a standard stick shift?
You are going to have to go a certified mechanic to do this kind of work - a car dealer would charge you just as much. Minimum budget from automatic to stick shift should be over $5000 (brand new transmission price). It s going to cost that much because the mechanic will have to put an order to get one designed specifically for your vehicle. You can go to a junk car yard for a used one but the mechanic wont be able to provide you a warranty after installing the part for you - it will cost you a thousand or two but it's not really worth the investment (too much work to get the right model not to mention remove it yourself at the end no warranty.Could you convert a 2002 acura rsx automatic into a standard stick shift?
It would be cheaper to purchase a car that's already a manual transmission.

You'd have to find/purchase the transmission, clutch, pilot bushing, clutch pedal and bracket assembly, clutch master cylinder, gear shift lever, rod linkage/cable assembly, a new PCM...

Then you'll have to have the whole mess installed, and the old parts removed and disposed of.

As for the running, well the engine should run EXACTLY as before, regardless of the transmission type.Could you convert a 2002 acura rsx automatic into a standard stick shift?
Yes you can do it, yes it would be pretty expensive depending on who you go to. Also yes it would drive like a stick shift car. If done correctly the only way someone would tell it was an automatic would be to run the vin number.

Also what others are saying are correct, but if you know a local garage that is also certified it might be a little cheaper, but not much.
Sure, it would work fine, just cost a bit.
