I always wear gloves when I ride as well. Even falling over in a parking lot will scrap your hands up, much less what will happen if you add any speed to the equation. If you have to use your hands at all, get a good set of gloves. I went down doing 75 mph many years ago, my gloves took a beating among other things, but my hands were still pretty much fine, I can't imagine what it would had been like if I wasn't wearing gloves, even just trying to attend my other injuries would had been impossible if I hadn't protected my hands. Is this enough sportsbike gear?

What about your legs? Your legs get torn up just as much as your torso in a crash. For the summer get some mesh armored paints. For winter get textile top and bottom. The textile will keep you dry and keep the wind out for a warm ride. Don't forget gloves. When you fall your hands will hit the ground too. The link below is where I get all my gear.
YOU NEED:
Riding paints
Riding gloves
Good for you wearing gear. Most people aren't that smart.
For riding around town, work, and errands I wear:
1. Full Gantlet Gloves
2. Leather motorcycle jacket
3. Alpinestar SMX-5 boots (very comfortable)
4. Full faced helmet
5. Jeans at the very least.
For a dedicated ride I wear all that along with a pair of Fieldsheer Leather Pants with pucks and excellent protection. Also, a back protector.
