I'm on a 250 cruiser and only use it for getting around town. I'm pretty broke and don't want to spend more than $100. Here are a few options that I've found:
Leather Jackets

Fieldsheer Textile Jacket

Alpinestars Textile Jacket (Someone is selling one used for $100)

Which one of these should I get? I'm also open to any other suggestions as well. Thanks in advance.Which of these motorcycle jackets should I get?
I'd definitely go the leather route. Of the two, the Xelement looks like a better jacket to me. Just be sure whatever jacket you get there is a piece of leather, either a flap or the jacket itself overlaps, like the traditional biker jackets do, to provide a barrier between the zipper and you. If you don't have this, there will be nothing to block the wind coming through the zipper.
Why don't you try Popsleathers.com for some good jackets.

Which of these motorcycle jackets should I get?I like the second leather one too. They're all nice, though, but the leather jackets make better off-the-bike jackets, the textile ones are more specialized for motorcycling. Besides, leather just goes with a cruiser, it's traditional. Textile jackets are for sportbikers.
You might also check out NewEnough.com. They have lots of closeouts, last year's models, etc. at good prices. And they're very nice about taking it back if you don't like it.
If you go with leather the second one is better, if you go with textile the last one in black is best. If you can't decide I'd go with the textile one.Which of these motorcycle jackets should I get?
If you ride a motorcycle then you need protection from the idiot car drivers out there who can`t see you
even if you have your lights on and wear fluorescent clothing.I have not looked at your list of jackets
but i know from fact that whichever jacket you decide to buy make sure it has shoulder, elbow and
back protection built into it.Leather is better as it is stronger than textile but the downside is that
it is black and hard to see in the dark.I ride my bike wearing a textile jacket with all the protection
plus its fluorescent at night and can be seen easily it is also waterproof and wind resistant it has a liner which is removable for summer use and all the protection pads come out easily so it can be used as casual wear .
I think the Xelement looks cheesy compared to the other leather jacket. I am deliberately overlooking the homoerotic pose, collar snapped, jacket unzipped, with no shirt underneath. The jacket itself looks pretty straight. Of course, you can't really tell about leather until you have it in your hands, but the Xelement screams "cheap" from across the void of space and time, something you might wear with a wife-beater and some gold chains around your neck..
If you go textile, go with the Alpinestar. It is a well-known brand, and the odds of getting good quality are better.
You should also try newenough.com and the JC Whitney catalog.
For a cruiser, an aviator-style leather jacket also works. The best are expensive, but there are decent low-buck versions to be had
