I have an Automatic Acura RSX, Can I change it to a manual? and if so What do I have to do, how much it costs?I have an Automatic Acura RSX, Can I change it to a manual?
A change from Art to MT will cost more then the car is worth and you will have a hard time selling it. Better off trading it in for a MT car.
There are tons of people who do that actually. If you ever go on www.clubrsx.com (to the forums), you will see that. The best way to do this (if you really want to), is go to the part-out section in the forums and find someone who has crashed their type S recently. At least 2 people crash their RSX's daily (an estimate made from what I learned from the days I were on clubrsx). You might be able to get the entire swap (everything you need to change your car into a Type S) for between $1,500 - $2,000. The labor will probably cost you like $1,000. The people that I've seen do this, have done it themselves (because Honda's are easy to take apart and put back together) so they saved the money on the labor.
If you simply want a manual swap, and NOT the Type S, the parts will probably be a lot cheaper. But you will regret not getting the Type S.I have an Automatic Acura RSX, Can I change it to a manual?
Ask anyone that has done swaps on 240sx's.Lots of work. You would have to source out the tranny, tranny computer, possibly a manual tranny engine ECU,clutch cables, slave cylinder,a new clutch, pedals, flywheel, and other parts to make it work.Honestly,I would sell it and get one with a manual.
you can get an engine and tranny with ECU for 5,000 shift nob and box clutch pedal and reservoir for a 1000 you need to change the axles there 800 . tachometer 150 labor will run you about 3000 oh hell just go buy a manual type S for 7000 and call it a day.I have an Automatic Acura RSX, Can I change it to a manual?
Yes you can, if you do, hit up ClubRSX.Com, go to the Forums, they have steps, they have people who have done it already, so most likely you'll get the best help from there. Although, I HIGHLY suggest you don't do it, I would rather sell the car, and buy a Type-S.
Easier and cheaper to simply trade it in for a manual.
The cost and effort in making all the mechanical and electronic changes are not worthwhile.
